rackinfo is the outcome of an internship with GWDG (Gesellschaft für wissenschaftliche Datenverarbeitung) in 2004 to produce an entry-level sensor monitoring for racks with a grid arrangement. (The visual presentation is something that Nagios and/or derivatives could not do at the time — and probably still don't.)
